Kapital raises $100M Series C to expand AI-driven SMB banking.

Mexico City’s fintech unicorn Kapital has raised $100 million in a Series C funding round, strengthening its mission to revolutionize financial services for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) across Latin America.

The round was led by Tribe Capital, with Pelion Ventures as co-lead and participation from Y Combinator, Marbruck Ventures, and True Arrow. The new funding brings Kapital’s valuation to $1.3 billion, a remarkable achievement just two years after its launch.

Positioning itself as a technology-first bank, Kapital provides an integrated financial platform that enables SMBs to streamline operations, manage loans, and optimize cash flow. Its model blends building native financial products with acquiring traditional institutions and modernizing them through its proprietary tech stack.

With the fresh capital, Kapital plans to expand its financial ecosystem across Latin America, focusing on empowering SMBs to maximize growth and efficiency. The company has already scaled its balance sheet to $3 billion and serves over 300,000 customers across Mexico, Colombia, and the U.S.

As Kapital continues its rapid growth in Mexico and Colombia, it is positioning itself as a leading force in AI-driven banking solutions for the region’s fast-growing SMB sector.
