A December 2025 privacy analysis by Digitain has identified ChatGPT Atlas as the least secure browser out of 13 platforms tested, citing critical vulnerabilities in tracking resistance, anti-fingerprinting technology and data protection. The study evaluated how effectively each browser prevents user identification, blocks trackers and cookies, and maintains secure connections. ChatGPT Atlas received the highest possible Privacy Risk Score of 99, with near-zero performance in privacy and tracker blocking, and a notably weak showing in connection security. Researchers concluded that the browser exposes users to extensive tracking and offers minimal protection against data harvesting.

The report also revealed shortcomings among several major browsers. Google Chrome and Vivaldi scored 76 and 75, respectively, performing moderately in anti-fingerprinting but failing to block trackers effectively. Microsoft Edge performed slightly better with a Privacy Risk Score of 63, while Opera ranked fifth-worst at 58. In contrast, privacy-focused browsers such as Brave and Mullvad delivered strong results across all tested categories, making them the top recommendations for users seeking enhanced protection against tracking and fingerprinting.
